甘肃省机械技工学校创办于1973年，位于国家级历史文化名城天水。隶属于甘肃省经济委员会，是甘肃省机械行业和天水市唯一的一所省级重点技工学校。 
　　学校现有教职工80余人，外聘教师60余人，在校生3570余人。学校先后开设机加类、电子类、旅游服务类等10余个专业，其中机械加工、电子装配、计算机装配、旅游服务与管理专业是学校精心打造并引以为强的品牌专业。多年来，学校不断深化教育教学改革，推进素质教育，强化实习环节，突出技能训练，有数十名学生在省市举办的技能大赛或技术比武中取得优异成绩。招生人数逐年成倍增长，在全国建立了切实可靠的就业安置网络，毕业生安置率近年来一直达到100%。建校30余年来，已为社会培养中高级技能人才近万人。1999年被甘肃省劳动和社会保障厅评为全省职业教育先进集体，2000年被甘肃省人民政府命名为省级重点技工学校，2003年与2004年被国家劳动和社会保障部确立为国家（机电项目）高技能人才培训基地和国家实习指导教学训练基地。

　　随着国家对高技能人才的大量需求，学校的办学规模逐年扩大，112亩的用地计划已通过省政府批准，建筑面积9480㎡的综合教学楼正在筹建之中。学校拟于2007年跨入国家重点技工学校行列，在此基础上建成全省初具规模的技师学院，为社会培养更多的技能型人才。

A Brief Introduction to GansuMachineryTechnicalSchool
　　　GansuMachineryTechnicalSchool was founded in 1973. It is situated in Tianshui, which is a city famous for its historical and cultural associations in China. It is subordinate to Gansu Committee for Economic Affairs and is the only key technical school in Gansu mechanical industry and in Tianshui.

　　Today the school has 80 staff members, more than 50 part-time teachers. There are 2,500 students. The school offers more than 10 specialities, including machining, electronics, tourist service and so on. Some are at pains to develop the specialities, such as machining, electronic assembly, computer assembly and tourist service and manage. Recently years, the school deepens reforms in education continuously, advances quality-oriented education, strengthens students’ practice in factory and stresses the train of technical ability. More than 10 students achieved excellent successes in provincial and civic technical competition. An enrolment has doubled and redoubled year by year. The school has established the reliable net of employment in the whole country. The rate of employment is 100% in recently years. In 30 years of the school established, it has produced about 10,000 middle or high technical personnel for society. The school was chosen as an advanced group of vocational education by Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Gansu province in 1999. It was named as the key technical school at the provincial level by the People’s Government of Gansu in 2000. In 2003 and 2004, the school was established as national (mechanical and electrical project) training base for high-technology talent and the national training base for guiding practice by Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

　　Along with the requirement for high-technology talent of the nation, the scope of the school is expending year by year. The land-using plan of 112 mu has approved by the government of GansuProvince. The integrated teaching building, which has 9480 m2, is preparing to construct. The school plans to be the national key technical school in 2007 and the technician college that begins to take shape in Gansu province so as to train more and more technical personnel.
